CRITICAL REVIEWS
Dr. Francesca Callipari
Art historian and critic
"Her artistic research is expressed through a varied production made up of works that project us towards a dreamlike and magical universe, within which mirrors, slides, crystals and everyday elements are reinterpreted in a creative way, becoming an integral part of the the work itself.
They are works through which the artist reflects on the world around her, often addressing existential and social issues. Obviously, the spectator's involvement is immediate, as Durlindana skillfully attracts her into her work, leading him to make a profound reflection on the topic covered."
Dr. Monica Ferrarini
Curator and art critic
"Eclectic and innovative artist Durlindana experiments with a variety of approaches to the formal medium in order to explore its expressive and conceptual possibilities. The common thread that unites the richness and vastness of her production is an always careful analysis of social, political, religious, existential, spiritual, where what is fundamental is the reflection that arises from them and which pushes the observer to a more incisive and thorough investigation towards what lives and surrounds him. Durlindana addresses delicate themes with originality of language and depth of concept, illustrating complex notions in an immediate way, often supported by the use of the most disparate objects which acquire a symbolic and allusive value. Her expressive language is therefore aimed at demonstrating how a simple image or a common object can communicate more of a thousand words. In each of her installations the most banal elements are extrapolated from their usual daily functionality to be reinterpreted and transformed into structures with an evocative character, suggesting profound reflections in an incisive and direct way. The experimentation of materials and techniques, the interpenetration between painting, photography and installation, are an integral part of a creativity that is based on his inexhaustible curiosity towards socio-existential topics and on the idea of art as a catalyst to stir consciences. In her first solo show, the artist focuses on issues that cross the centuries and history, and which remain highly current such as, for example, the arrogance of prevarication at the hands of political-religious institutions which, behind the mask of false respectable morality attempts to suffocate the freedom of the individual. With the intention of putting us face to face with our conscience and a rationalistic critical observation, the artist creates an engaging performance which is the fulcrum of the entire exhibition. The evaluation therefore becomes action and invites an enjoyment that goes beyond the visual, inviting the spectator to emotionally come into contact with the artist. The performative language creates something singular and unique that aims to create an unrepeatable and shareable experience. Through her performance, Durlindana moves within the ephemerality of action and generates a subtle relational dichotomy between audience and gesture, between feeling and acting, between space and imagination. Beyond the physical objectivity of the "props", the repetitiveness of the artistic act, which continues indiscriminately and infinitely over the scenic time, the artist opens the doors to something broad and exciting and ensures that the bystander is not a passive element. She manages to illustrate complex concepts in a penetrating way and make them captivating through a skilful use of symbolism, consequently triggering articulated reflections and activating different points of view with respect to ethical, moral, political, religious themes and offering the possibility of acquiring a new look and a more structured thinking."
